Don’t we want… moar Sherlock?

Is it because American television has a long track-record of absolutely shitting on any semblance of subtlety, profundity, and intellectual content?

Because, you know… that’s not always true. By a long shot.

So… Why are we upset?

Because I know nothing will ever be as perfect and beautiful as BBC Sherlock. Also because the guy they casted just isn’t doing it for me.

And I’m worried they’ll try to make it too much like BBC Sherlock and if they do that I’ll be sad.

And because I can’t actually wrap my head around different actors playing Sherlock and John. Like..they’re perfect.

Every since I saw BBC Sherlock… i just… can’t give any other Sherlock Holmes movie/show a chance it seems… bbc sherlock is just perfection.

I’m not upset about it for any of the reasons stated above, but for this simple reason.

CBS asked for permission to Americanize Sherlock, and the BBC crew said no. They were not interested and would not give the rights.

So CBS went behind their backs and did it anyway.

So I don’t care whether or not it’s good, I’m not going to support it because that’s just shitty business practices. They straight up stole an idea from the producers of the BBC version, and want to pretend that it was all their idea.

If they had been given permission and gotten the rights and worked with the BBC producers, then yes, I would give it a chance. But they couldn’t take no for an answer, and therefore I cannot support them.

Hm… If this is true, then that would certainly be in bad taste. Very bad taste indeed. Could you askbox me the source for this info?
