-is if Sherlock overheard the conversation between John and Mycroft in the cafe downstairs, and therefore has the details to daydream about rescuing Irene Adler.
If there is evidence to support that was a daydream sequence, and not a flashback, then fine. Yes. Okay. Good. That will tip the scales into, “This was overall a satisfying episode.”
I am going to rewatch to see if I see Sherlock in disguise in the background. (Ie., I am going to scour for popped collars.)
If not, then I am just going to delete this episode from my headcanon. I will enjoy Baskerville and Reichenbach and forget this ever happened. I love this fandom and want to continue geeking out, but I just can’t handle this bit of frankly god-awful writing. I hope it’s just my imperceptiveness as a viewer.
